It was off for lunch by the Great Sphinx (note how everything has the word great in front of it):

Here's Tans making out with the Sphinx, I'm sure Grant is a better kisser...

Um... yeah...

We took an overnight train all the way down to Aswan and the next day we checked out the High and low dam (the high dam was put there to prevent flooding and create electricity). The high dam creates lake Nasser which is freaken massive, a surface area of 5,250 km² and holds 111 km³. I'd show you a pic of it, but it's pretty boring, consisting of water and sky.

What was cool, was catching a boat out to an island where the Philae Temple was located:

It's a couple thousand years old as would've been at the bottom of the lake, if it wasn't for the fact that it was completely relocated to the top of a hill:

Here's our guide, Remon, explaining in detail what the hieroglyphics mean:

And a few snaps of some hieroglyphics:

The temple even had a Sphinx (looked very real):

That night we went to a Nubian dinner. Here's a snap I took while on the boat:

While we were sailing along, a giant alligator threatened to chomp through the hull of the boat and eat everyone on board. I took the initiative and wrestled it into submission:

The Nubian guys dancing (traditionally the women didn't because they are too shy)

At one stage they got a bunch of us up to perform with them. Thanks to our guide Remon telling the guy to pick me, up I went:

Of course, after a couple of beers I played up to the task, here's a very short vid Meels took of me:
