Kiwiana++: Able Tasman National Park

One of the places we went exploring from one of the many beaches was Cleopatra's Pool. You could cut off 30mins of the walk if you took a short cut across a bay:

Fabulous stroll through the bush:

The water was crystal clear and it even had a natural waterslide (check that out in my video later...)

As we were walking across the sand bars on the way there we could actually see the tide creeping up, which made for an amusing crossing on the way back, with Kent *just* tall enough to be able to bob up and down on his tippy toes!

Another 10 mins and we would've gotten into a bit more shiit than what we did!

Here's Stu and Mel, testing out the hovering ability of their sea kayak (they had to spend extra for that feature):

Chris Mathew also joined us for a bit, although he had to take off and do whatever Maori fulla's do after a day with us:

On Adele Island we went for a walk and caught a great view of the national Park:

One of the beaches we stopped off at just outside the marine reserve had a STACK of muscles about a meter under the water:

These were proper Kiwi style muscles, ones which covered the palm of ya hand:

Just to help you pom's out, the size of one Kiwi sized muscle is equivalent to approximately four thousand English sized muscles. I still remember one of my first meals in England was at a fish and chip shop, where I asked for some muscles, "Hmm, could I have, um, half a dozen muscles please?" The fish and chip guy laughed at me.

We ended up picking about 100 of the gorgeous little buggers:

And gorged ourselves on them over two nights, cooked fresh on the barbie, fan-freaken-tastic:
