Hi Tony,
Thanks for your letter outlining the issues on the weekend with Wanderers World. We are already aware of the problems and have been in touch with the company to ensure all TNT readers receive a full tour refund.
We have also asked the company to confirm that tickets will be available for tours they have already pre-sold for future games, and we are seeking reassurance that the company acts in a professional manner moving forward. Failure to refund all money to those affected and to provide these basic guarantees could affect their right to advertise in the magazine. This is in line with our regular complaints procedure which guarantees that readers with complaints against TNT advertisers receive a satisfactory outcome.
Likewise, with reference to Backpacker Co, I have cc-ed our Sales Manager, Vicky Abbott, here, who will ask the conpany for a formal response to the issues relating to the bar area.
In the meantime, Wanderers World should send the letter below out to all customers who were in Wales on the weekend. It would appear the company's expected allocation of tickets did not come to fruition and they are now pursuing their ticket source to establish what went wrong.
We will post further information at www.tntmagazine.com/uk and carry an update in the magazine on Monday.
Again, I'm sorry that your trip to the rugby was so adversely affected. Please let me know if your money has not been refunded by Thursday and I will pass it through the relevant channels here to ensure this process is as painless as possible.
Unfortunately, TNT is not a consumer watchdog but, like other publications, a medium through which readers find advertisers and vice versa. However, we are doing all we can at this end to ensure TNT readers get the best possible outcome from what is clearly an unacceptable situation.
Regards,
Lyn.

Dear Client
We at Wanderers would like to offer a sincere apology to each and every one of you who were affected by the ‘ticket fiasco’ on Sat 5 November. We were horrified by the whole situation.
We have been in touch with our Solicitors and will continue that today. We are also going to hold talks with our supplier to work through an amicable resolution to this where moneys are paid back to each individual that did not get into the game.
Please allow us 48/72 hours and by Wednesday/Thursday we aim to process all of your refund enquiries.
Yours faithfully,
K Walker

TNT's responsibility too
I would be very disappointed in TNT if they allowed Wanders World to ever advertise with you again. I can appreciate that screw-up’s do happen, but there is no excuse for the blatant lies we where told and they way Wanders World treated us. Totally and absolutely unacceptable and I think that TNT should protect future travellers because:
a) They told us they had the tickets several times and it wasn’t up until the game was starting that we where told we weren’t getting a ticket, leaving us no time to find scalper or another way of getting a ticket.
b) No officials came forward to tell the crowd anything, it was left up to the security and the band to take all the flack
c) When someone finally went on stage, they didn’t use a microphone that was beside them so hardly anyone heard anything over the noise of the crowd
d) There is no excuse for them not to have the tickets days, if not weeks in advance.
Again, I could probably forgive them for losing the tickets or whatever happened to them, but I will never forgive them for the way they handled the situation.
Backpacker Co was also drawing a very fine line with the way they handled the bar. Due to the screw up they had a captive crowd buying beer and food off them throughout the game via selling tokens. Every time I brought tokens I asked and was specifically told that I would get a refund for any I didn’t spend. Come the end of the evening I was told that was not the case and there where no refunds. After talking to a very unpleasant person from Backpackers who treated me like absolute dirt I got a refund and when I asked “what about everyone else?” I was told to get out of her way. I stress that I was very pleasant to her the whole time and eventually after more hassles they reversed their decision and gave refunds for the tokens. Unacceptable that they should try to take advantage of people who have already been treated like rubbish.
